Clinical Supervision for Professionals
Continuing supervision as a professional is both a wonderful and crucial part of nurturing our growth, self care, and ethical responsibilities as clinicians. Professional supervision holds a safe space for:
Processing emotions/events from session spaces
Talking through/receiving new ideas and perspectives
Accountability to continue growth areas such as reflexivity, creativity, and professionalism
Whether you are a student, new professional, or seasoned clinician, supervision is a space to feel supported and heard by someone who knows firsthand the joys and challenges of this field.

More about Mikaila:
Mikaila (she/her/hers) identifies as white, queer, neurodivergent, able-bodied, female, and middle-class. She primarily works with neurodiverse kiddos, as well as adults, memory care facilities, and mental health.
Mikaila has a deep appreciation for supervision spaces, both as the supervisor and supervisee (yes, supervisors should be in supervision as well!) Our growth and learning does not end once we receive our degree, it does not end when we receive our certification, it simply does not end. We MTs are also in a tough profession, pulling us in all different directions, with a high rate of burnout. Mikaila has felt those pulls, and tasted the burnout. She credits her own supervision spaces, where she is the supervisee, for helping redirect how she navigates her MT journey in healthier and more sustainable ways. She is passionate about fostering learning spaces built on community, reflexivity, and gentleness.
Fun facts about Mikaila:
You might see my cat, Itty, join our calls from time to time (he likes to say hi)
I am forever and always open to travel tips and ideas
I feel most grounded in nature- specifically in the mountains
My non-musical hobbies include: yoga, hiking, cooking, painting
What might supervision spaces look like?
The short answer: that depends! This is your space to use as you need. We might verbally process your sessions or topics you are grappling with. We might musically improvise. We might work through session ideas. We may discuss sources of other perspectives through shared resources (readings, podcasts, etc.). We may engage in less traditional processing- I believe other arts-based forms of processing such as painting, poetry, journaling, crafting etc. can be extremely supportive when holding space for our complex growth. Again, your space will reflect you, and what you want out of supervision.
